Independent Power Generation Programme
Project overview
A privately financed 370 MW combined-cycle gas-fired generation programme, developed as an independent power project under a long-term electricity supply arrangement with the national offtaker. The plant sits approximately 25 km from the principal metropolitan centre and operates under a 25-year offtake period, financed through an international project-finance structure supported by export-credit and multilateral institutions.
MZA’s predecessor organisation held an exclusive agency role for an international consortium of technology, development and contracting organisations during the procurement stage. The engagement covered consortium formation, alignment and tender-stage coordination.
The programme was subsequently implemented by a different project company from the consortium MZA supported. This record is published as consortium and procurement-stage experience; it does not indicate that MZA or the represented parties developed, financed, built or operated the plant.
